The datacenter in Amsterdam has a direct connection to the Amsterdam Internet Exchange (AMS-IX), one of the largest internet junctions in the world. This means access to over 800 networks of both national as well as international organizations, with traffic peaking at over 5 Terabits per second.
Remote Hands Service
At the Amsterdam location The Datacenter Group offers a Remote Hands Service. This means you do not have to send your own staff to the datacenter to for example connect a cable. The facility engineers of The Datacenter Group can conduct activities for you such as changing hard drives, restarting servers, switching tapes, and connecting remote desktop hardware. This saves you a lot of time.
This location has security personnel on site 24 hours per day, 7 days a week. Not only does this offer extra reassurance, but you also always have a point of contact on site.
Above sea level
The climate of the Netherlands is changing, with all consequences that entails. A possible flood could have far-reaching consequences should your IT systems not be housed above AOD (Amsterdam Ordnance Datum). Thankfully, all data floors of The Datacenter Group Amsterdam location are above AOD.
The datacenter in Amsterdam was opened in 2007 and has a surface area of 5.000 m2. This location is situated near the A10 highway, Schiphol airport, and the Amsterdam Sloterdijk and Amsterdam Central train stations. The datacenter is easily accessible by car as well as public transport. Its proximity to Schiphol airport makes this datacenter an excellent choice for international customers.
Custom-made cooling system
Innovation is something we value highly at The Datacenter Group. For example, we developed our own energy efficient cooling system based on adiabatic cooling. With this system we can indirectly cool the IT equipment of our customers using outside air, which results in a more economical and sustainable datacenter. It also significantly reduces costs for our customers. This unique cooling system can also be found in the Amsterdam datacenter.
